I like building things that probably shouldn’t be simple —
and then trying to make them make sense anyway.
Most of what I do sits somewhere between AI, systems design, and curiosity.
I don’t really follow roadmaps. I follow obsessions.
- how memory should work (and why most systems get it wrong)
- intelligence as a living process, not a database
- architectures that age, decay, and evolve
- building things that feel more alive than correct
- turning abstract ideas into systems you can actually run
I mostly build because it’s fun.
The fact that some of it ends up useful is a bonus.
An open-source attempt to model cognition the way humans actually experience it: imperfectly, emotionally, and selectively.
It explores ideas like:
- memory that fades unless it matters
- internal state influencing perception
- personality as an emergent property
- forgetting as a feature, not a bug
TBHP exists because I couldn’t stop thinking about these things.
It’s research-y, unfinished by nature, and constantly evolving.
This is the more grounded side of what I do.
Tokens United is where systems stop being philosophical and start paying rent: custom web platforms, clean architecture, and solutions that don’t collapse the moment a business grows.
It’s less experimental, more practical —
but still built with the same obsession for structure and longevity.
I spend most of my time thinking about structure before code.
Tools change.
Patterns stay.
That said, I usually reach for:
- Python
- Django
- React
- LLMs (local & hosted)
- a lot of architecture diagrams that never see daylight
- 🎸 I am a guitarist (Les Pauls, obviously)
- 🌊 I am an Advanced Scuba Diver (SS thislegorm shipwreck has got to be my favorite dive of all time)
✈️ traveling, especially places that feel slightly unreal- 🎥 films that care more about ideas than explosions (Interstellar never leaves)
All of it sneaks into how I design systems, whether I like it or not.
If something here overlaps with what you’re thinking about, you can reach me at:

- Tokens United: tokensunited@yassinrakha.com
No pressure.
I’m probably building something either way.
