Confirmed — regression from the modelsdk backend, now fixed (5335acf1d)

The whole external-entity feature was silently dropped by the modelsdk write adapters. The executor (applyExternalEntityFields) stamps the right fields on the entity, but the codec write path ignored them:

The legacy sdk/mpr writer handled all of this — hence --engine legacy was correct, confirming the regression came with the default-engine switch.

Fix

Ported the legacy logic into the codec adapters (mdl/backend/modelsdk/domainmodel_write.go), using the gen Rest$OData* types (all already present in modelsdk/gen/rest):

• externalEntitySourceToGen → Rest$ODataRemoteEntitySource (capabilities + ODataKey/ODataKeyPart), Rest$ODataEntityTypeSource (derived/abstract), Rest$ODataPrimitiveCollectionEntitySource (primitive-collection NPE). Nested key IDs are assigned here since assignEntityIDs only stamps the top source object.
• attributeToGen gains an isExternal flag → Rest$ODataMappedValue / Rest$ODataMappedPrimitiveCollectionValue instead of StoredValue.
• externalAssociationSourceToGen → Rest$ODataRemoteAssociationSource / Rest$ODataPrimitiveCollectionAssociationSource (plain associations still null Source).

Verification

New external_entity_write_test.go encodes each shape through the adapters and asserts the resulting BSON (Source.$Type, Key/Parts, mapped-value types, association nav properties) — matching the legacy serializer's output, which is the path that previously fixed the "51+ Studio Pro errors" on external-entity imports. Full modelsdk/executor/sdk/mpr suites green.

(Note: a live CREATE EXTERNAL ENTITIES + mx check needs a consumed-OData-service fixture with cached $metadata, which no test project currently has; the adapter tests assert byte-shape parity with the proven legacy output instead.)
